Why pendulaf

A Workshop Built Around the Watch

One Pair of Hands

Your watch is handled by the same person from intake through to collection. Nothing is passed between benches or rushed through.

Plain Pricing

Each service is quoted at a fixed rate before any work begins. There are no additions for difficulty or extra parts beyond what is discussed.

Unhurried Pace

Mechanical work takes the time it takes. Turnaround estimates are honest, and we do not compress the timing observation stage.

Documented Work

Restoration and full-service customers receive a written report and, where relevant, a photographic record of the movement before and after.

Patina Respected

Older pieces are not polished or buffed unless specifically requested. Character is considered part of the watch, not a defect to correct.

Central Chiang Mai

Located on Loi Kroh Road, within easy reach of the old city. Drop-off and collection by appointment avoids unnecessary waiting.

Questions

Frequently Asked

How do I get my watch to you? +
Drop-off is by appointment at our workshop on Loi Kroh Road. Send a message or call ahead to arrange a time. We do not accept walk-ins without notice, as the bench needs to be prepared.
Will you service a brand I have never heard you mention? +
Most Swiss and Japanese movements are within our scope. If the piece requires factory-specific tooling or proprietary parts not available outside the brand's network, we will say so clearly at intake rather than accept work we cannot complete to a reasonable standard.
Can you give me a price before you open the watch? +
For battery replacement and standard full-service work, the price is fixed and quoted upfront. For vintage restoration, we provide an initial estimate and discuss any revisions with you before proceeding, because condition varies considerably from piece to piece.
How long will the work take? +
Battery replacement is typically same-day to two days. A full mechanical service takes two to four weeks, including the timing observation period. Vintage restoration commonly runs six to ten weeks, depending on parts sourcing. These are real estimates, not targets we compromise to meet.
What happens to the original parts you remove? +
Any replaced components — worn gaskets, old cells, degraded lubricant pads — are available for inspection at collection. We do not discard original parts until you have had the chance to see them.
Is my watch covered while it is with you? +
The workshop maintains professional liability cover. Pieces are stored securely when not on the bench. If you have particular concerns about a high-value item, please discuss them at intake so we can agree on appropriate handling.
