1. Definitions

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website, submitting an enquiry, or delivering a piece for service, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. These terms govern the relationship between pendulaf and all clients.

3. Service Description

pendulaf offers three services: battery replacement and water-resistance check, mechanical movement full service, and vintage timepiece restoration. Services are performed at our workshop in Chiang Mai. We do not offer postal repair or collection services at this time. Clients must deliver and collect pieces in person or arrange for an authorised representative to do so.

4. Service Scope and Changes

The scope of each service is confirmed in writing before work begins. If additional issues are found during disassembly that would change the agreed scope or price, pendulaf will contact the client before proceeding. Work will not proceed beyond the agreed scope without explicit client consent. Clients have the right to decline additional work and collect the piece in its partially disassembled state, subject to a partial labour charge for work already completed.

5. Client Responsibilities

pendulaf reserves the right to decline service on any piece without obligation to provide a reason.

6. Payment Terms

All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and represent the total cost for the named service including standard consumables. Prices are fixed at the time of scope agreement and will not change unless the agreed scope changes.

Battery Replacement & Water-Resistance Check: ฿4,400
Mechanical Movement Full Service: ฿17,500
Vintage Timepiece Restoration: ฿34,500 (subject to revision if exceptional parts costs arise, with prior agreement)

Payment is due in full upon collection of the piece. Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at intake. pendulaf retains a lien over pieces in service until payment is received in full.

Uncollected Pieces

If a piece is not collected within 60 days of the client being notified, pendulaf will make two further attempts to contact the client. After 90 days of non-collection with no response, the piece may be held in storage and a monthly storage fee may be applied.

7. Turnaround Times

Turnaround estimates provided at intake are good-faith estimates based on current workshop load and standard parts availability. They are not contractual commitments. pendulaf will notify clients promptly if timelines change. Vintage restoration timelines in particular may vary due to parts sourcing, which is outside our direct control.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, photographs, and design elements — is owned by or licensed to pendulaf. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website without prior written permission. The condition reports and photographic records produced for clients are provided for their personal use and may not be reproduced commercially without consent.

9. Disclaimers

pendulaf provides services to a professional standard but cannot represent that every piece will achieve a specific outcome. Outcomes depend on the condition of the piece at intake, the availability of compatible parts, and the fundamental mechanical state of aged components. We will be transparent about risks at intake and will not proceed without the client's understanding of those risks.

This website and its content are provided for informational purposes. pendulaf does not provide advice on the monetary valuation or insurance of timepieces.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Thai law, pendulaf's liability to any client for any claim arising from a service shall not exceed the price paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages. pendulaf maintains professional liability insurance; clients with concerns about high-value pieces should raise them at intake.

Force Majeure

pendulaf is not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including natural events, power outages, supplier failures, or public health restrictions.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify pendulaf against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these terms, your misrepresentation of ownership of a piece, or your provision of inaccurate information that leads to damage to the piece during service.

12. Termination

Either party may withdraw from an agreed service before disassembly has begun without penalty. Once disassembly has commenced, a partial charge for work completed applies. On termination, the piece will be returned in the state it is in at the time of termination, with components reassembled to the extent reasonably possible.

13. Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt informal resolution in good faith before pursuing formal proceedings. If informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Chiang Mai, Thailand.

14. General Provisions

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by a revised "Last updated" date. Terms in force at the time a service is agreed govern that service.
